Course Overview

This is for students wishing to improve their basic English Skills. They may come for a holiday to improve their English skills for future job prospects and opportunities with employment. Many use General English as a pathway to IELTS or English for Academic Purposes (EAP).

These English courses are designed for all levels. General English is a fun, interactive class which prepares you to use English in the real world. At St Basil’s RTO, you will be communicating with English speakers to improve the way you understand the English language proficiency for employment, higher education or travel purposes. Classes are available at three levels graded from Beginners to Advanced, with each cycle continuing for 10 weeks

STUDY PATHWAYS | General English will offer you 3 options:

OPTION 1:

General English + VET Course for Certificate IV or Diploma ⇒ Employment outcome

OPTION 2:

General English + English for Academic Purposes (EAP) ⇒ Study at University

OPTION 3:

General English + IELTS Preparation Test ⇒ Employment outcome

International Students

International students applying for a student visa are advised to check with the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP).
Separate English requirements may apply to your student visa application

Entry Requirements

You must be 18 years of age or older to commence the course. Completed Elementary English language level or above. Student, Working Holiday or Tourist visa  You will be required to undergo an initial pre-training assessment to have your language ability assessed to determine which course level you are best suited to prior to enrolment.

Intakes for 2019

This course offers rolling starts to suit the availability of your learning schedule. Student orientation is held every Monday.
